Background and RDE Goals:
The Western Australian Research Advisory Committee (WA RAC), formerly the WA FRAB, is an Australian Government statutory authority that was established by the FRDC in March 2016 under the Primary Industries and Energy Research and Development Act 1989 (PIRD Act).
The committee is comprised from a membership group with expertise in wild catch (commercial and recreational), aquaculture, post-harvest and indigenous sectors along with industry representative organisations.
Under the FRDC’s RD&E plan (2015-20), the WA RAC provides greater ownership and authority to industry sectors in developing RD&E priorities for the jurisdiction of Western Australia.
