Trade Bursary Program 2017

FRDC is providing the opportunity for five young industry leaders from the seafood industry to attend the Global Seafood Exposition from 24-26 April 2017.

Each bursary will be worth up to $5,000, with funds being used for travel accommodation and some meals.

Government employees, consultants and other service providers are not eligible for the bursary but are welcome to join the Australian seafood industry stand and participate in the planned activities at their own expense.  The bursary is aimed at Australian Seafood Industry people under the age of 35, who have not been to the Global Seafood Exposition previously.

Both FRDC and a number of Australia’s most successful seafood traders and exporters will mentor the successful candidates during the visit.  Optional meetings are being arranged in seafood centres around Europe. The bursary winners will have the option of attending these.

Following completion of trade tour program the successful candidate will be required to prepare a short report outlining:

  1. Issues that need to be considered by any industry member prior to, during and after Global Seafood Exposition to maximise the benefits of participation
  2. Your own learning from the experience

Applicants need to complete the application form and will be assessed against the six selection criteria.

Applications close on Friday 2 January 2018 (COB) and will be assessed by FRDC.

Enquiries should contact Peter Horvat – 02 62850414, 0415 933 557 or peter.horvat@frdc.com.au.
