Australian Council of Prawn Fisheries Research and Development Strategy

The ACPF has oversight of approximately 50% of the levy and matching dollars from Australia’s wild harvest prawn fisheries. ACPF has a clear R&D Strategy to guide investment over the period to 2020 under 5 strategies:

  1. Consistent and stable gains in prawn prices
  2. Real increases in harvest and prawn supply chain efficiency
  3. Real increases in consumer awareness of Australian wild catch prawns
  4. Secure fishery access based on minimal impact on the marine environment and continual improvement in resource sustainability.
  5. Respected and professional leadership supported by appropriate organisational resources.
