Undertaking an extensive industry feedback program requires not only good planning but also good industry knowledge and support.
The FRDC has brought together a group of industry representatives to assist with this. The Marketing Function Advisory Committee brings together individuals who represent producers (licence holders and fishers), companies (small to large), sectors and representatives of the supply chain.
The committee will help the FRDC to refine and implement the stakeholder engagement strategy. These individuals are volunteering their time to assist FRDC in bringing the marketing initiative to the industry.

Brett McCallum is both the FRDC Deputy Chair and Chair of the Marketing Function Advisory Committee. Until recently he had been the Chief Executive Officer of the Pearl Producers Association and has held many senior roles in the fishing industry and has been involved in a number of industry and government advisory committees. Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of the Western Australian Fishing Industry Council, Director National Aquaculture Council and several executive management positions in major commercial fishing companies.

Len was appointed to the role with the Seafood CRC in 2007. He has held Director positions on many primary industry boards including Rural Industries RDC and Dairy Australia. He previous role was as the Chief Executive Officer of Australian Wool Innovation Limited, the wool industry research and development company that drives research, development and innovation to increase the long term profitability of Australian wool growers. During this time, Len drove the transformation of Australian Wool Innovation from a predominantly on-farm research and development company with an interest in textile technology to a robust, product development and product marketing program. Len has also worked as the General Manager of Livestock Innovation with Meat and Livestock Australia.

David is also Queensland commercial fisher, who started the business in 1986 after recognising the need to market his catch more effectively. The company has since grown to be a significant supplier of fresh and frozen seafood in Australia and to overseas markets, with a reputation as a reliable export partner.

Gus commenced with the NSW Fish Marketing Authority in 1981 and was appointed Supply Manager in 1999. His principal role is to source and co-ordinate the supply of seafood to the auction. Gus is responsible for all communication with suppliers, as well as seafood transporters and other related businesses. He is also now the Chair of the Australian Fish Names Committee, a role and association which he began as a committee member at its inception.

He is a firm advocate of collaboration within the seafood industry and partnering with other sectors to further develop market opportunities in Asia. Nathan is the Chairman of the Seafood Trade Advisory Group (STAG) and regularly briefs Federal ministers on market access issues related to the trade of seafood in Asia. He has completed an MBA as well as a Graduate Diploma in International Business and is a current fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.

Jonas has been a Director of the Abalone Council Australia Ltd. since 2009 and the President of the Abalone Industry Association of South Australia Inc. since 2009. Jonas sits on FRDC's Aquatic Animal Health Sub Committee as the wild catch fishery sector representative, and is a director of Wildcatch Fisheries SA, South Australia's fishing peak industry body and a Director of his family company Eyrewoolf Enterprises Pty Ltd.
