The Application

In 2005, the FRDC re-developed its on-line application system, now called FishNet. Before entering FishNet, please read these instructions on its use.

Getting started

FRDC recommends that applicants develop their applications using the online application system FishNet. To view the application requirements and format, a blank application is available for download from within FishNet (download in rtf format).

To simplify text entry, applicants may wish to develop the larger text components of their application using rtf file and then cut and paste into FishNet. However, please note that information pasted into FishNet will lose some formatting (tab spaces, underline, italics etc) and tables will be lost.

Before you can access FishNet you will need to register. Take notice of the "help" facility provided on most screens.

You can access any part of the application from any screen using the index on the left of the screen.

Organisational Arrangements

Before you start an application, please talk with your organisation about how it intends to manage the process. You should cover issues such as submission processes, application IDs and passwords. See the submission section below for detailed instructions on finalising your application.

Access by other users

Applicants can give permission for other users to access their application by assigning other registered users to their applications. Applicants may also email a copy of their application to anyone by using the print page.

Submission

To submit your application:

  1. Print the final version of the application and have it approved by your organisation.
  2. Post 11 copies of the applications to FRDC - ten copies double side printed and stapled , including supporting letters, and one copy unstapled, unbound, single sided.
  3. Finalise your application in FishNet.

Applications must be lodged by 1 November.

LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

FRDC will acknowledge receipt of applications only on request.

Ownership of the Application

All applications, excluding the information contained therein, submitted to the FRDC will become the property of the FRDC, and will be retained, or disposed of, by the FRDC.

Advice to Applicants

Applicants will be advised in writing of the results of their applications through the Principal Investigator. The decision of the FRDC Board is final.
