Research Advisory Committees (RACs) play a vital role in ensuring FRDC investments delivers real impact through investment in research, development, and extension (RD&E).

There are eight RACs – one representing each State, the Commonwealth, and the Northern Territory – providing advice on priorities and investment needs.

The FRDC are seeking expression of interest for Research Advisory Committee membership in each State, the Commonwealth, and the Northern Territory. Current, former, and new members are welcome to apply for this opportunity.

RAC membership includes a mix of representation and expertise from areas such as industry, post‐harvest, research, and natural resource management, providing the committees with the necessary situational awareness. Independent Chairs lead the RAC process with FRDC providing management and extension support.

The primary role of RAC members is to be aware of and responsive to the opportunities and challenges of stakeholders within each jurisdiction. Using this knowledge to help prioritise RD&E that will result in investments achieving positive impacts within and among stakeholder groups and across jurisdictions (where possible).

RAC members will be required to attend at least two committee meetings a year (being online or face to face), with FRDC anticipating increasing numbers of RAC meetings hosted via Microsoft Teams.
