In 2019, the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) undertook a probity audit of the five statutory Research and Development Corporations (RDCs). This included: FRDC, AgriFutures Australia (open to all agricultural industries), Cotton RDC, Grains RDC and Wine Australia. The objective of the audit was to assess the effectiveness of the RDCs’ management of probity. The audit criteria were:

  • Do the RDCs have appropriate probity arrangements?
  • Have the RDCs complied with applicable probity requirements?

The Auditor-General published the Performance Audit Report on Wednesday 18 December 2019.

The FRDC Board has accepted all recommendations and has established a timeline to ensure all performance improvements are adopted by the FRDC.
