Australia exports around half of its annual fisheries and aquaculture production by value, specialising in high unit value products for the growing Asian market. To support Australian seafood producers and exporters, the FRDC provides current data on:

• Australian and global seafood production, and
• Australian seafood trade statistics.

FRDC also funds the production of ABARE’s annual Fisheries and Aquaculture Statistics Reports.

In addition, the FRDC undertakes consumer and community research to gain an understanding of community and consumer views of the Australian seafood sectors.
