Objectives

1. Establish population parameters to develop dynamic models for management of Great Barrier Reef stocks, especially Serranidae & Lethrinadae
2. To determine the extent of geographical differences in growth and reproductive pattern along the GBR
3. To identify the temporal and behavioural characteristics of coral trout spawning aggregations and assess their management significance.
4. To determine the relationships between spawning stock abundance, pelagic larval density and recrutiment of juveniles.
5. To determine the duration of the pelagic larval stages.
