The National Farmers’ Federation has established a central portal (Farmhub) which holds information and links to COVID-19 information and business packages from across Government and other organisations. Keeping track of all the changes remains difficult across jurisdictions to ensure you get the latest information the FRDC will link to the Farmhub site for general updates.

Federal Government Response

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to present new challenges and the Government’s economic support continues to evolve. The 2021-22 Budget committed an additional $41 billion in direct economic support, bringing total support since the beginning of the pandemic to $291 billion as of May 2021.

Building on that support, the Government is working with states and territories to provide further financial assistance to workers and businesses affected by lockdowns and restrictions in COVID-19 hotspots. Since the onset of the COVID‑19 pandemic, the Government has provided direct economic support to businesses. Support is available to keep businesses in business and Australians in jobs. See https://treasury.gov.au/coronavirus/businesses.

 

International freight support measures

The Federal Government has allocated funding to support air freight of high value agricultural products. Under this initiative, the Government will coordinate flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth for deliveries to China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UAE.
